Met office predicts heavy rainfall

Due to active monsoon, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions in 24 hours as of 10am on Wednesday.

Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, a Met office release said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places in Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places in the country in 24 hours till 9am on Wednesday, a warning message of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said.

The highest rainfall was recorded 159 millimetre in Sandwip in Chittagong on Monday.
