The website of the government’s Information Communication Technology (ICT) Division has been retrieved, hours after it was hacked.

Users failed to access the official site, ictd.gov.bd, for hours on Saturday afternoon.

An ICT Division spokesperson said their initials findings suggested Indian hackers were behind the cyber attack.

"We suspect it was in response to the hacking of some Indian sites on Friday by Bangladeshi hackers," ICT Division Public Relations Officer Abu Naser has said.

After Bangladesh's defeat against India in Thursday’s ICC Champions Trophy semi final, a Facebook page titled 'Cyber 71' claimed they had hacked some 100 Indian sites, according to bdnews24.com.
