Millennials, people of the age group 18-35 years, in Bangladesh using social media interact less on modest or halal fashions, according to an estimate of Thomson Reuters.

It also showed Bangladesh is at par with Saudi Arabia and India.

The top country where millennials were engaged with modest fashion sector topics in 2015 was Indonesia with 68.6k interactions.

The largest Muslim populous country was followed by Malaysia (5.3k), Pakistan (1.5k), Taiwan (1.5k) and Singapore (1k). 

“This shows the concentration of Modest Fashion activities among millennials in Indonesia,” said the report titled State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2016-17.

“High interactions in non-Muslim majority countries of Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines and USA is a reflection of the prominent interest from these markets in Modest Fashion category,” it added.

The report is prepared in association with Dinar Standard, a growth strategy research and advisory firm based in New York which presented Islamic market and industry status in 2015.
