Export to Canada dropped marginally in the 11 months of the current fiscal year (FY17), according to the latest data of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

It showed that Bangladesh’s export earnings from Canada stood at $960.19 million in July-May period of FY17 while the amount was $979.46 million in the same period of the past fiscal year.

Canada is a growing export destination to Bangladesh. The country has offered tariff free access to Bangladesh with the generous condition of only 25 per cent local value addition.

Annual export to Canada stood at $1112.88 million or $1.11 billion in the past fiscal year.
