FE Online Report
Annual inflow of net Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Bangladesh accounted for 3.6 per cent of the country’s gross fixed capital formation (GFCF) in the past year.

The World Investment Report 2017, released by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), revealed the information.

The inflow of FDI in the past year stood at $2.33 billion.

It also showed, the FDI as percentage of GFCF was 3.7 per cent in 2015 and 2.9 per cent in 2014.

GFCF is the net increase in physical assets (investment minus disposals) within the measurement period.

It does not account for the consumption (depreciation) of fixed capital, and also does not include land purchases.  It is a component of expenditure approach to calculating Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
