50 houses gutted in Panchargarh fire

Around 50 houses of 16 families were gutted in a fire that broke out at Dangabari village in Sadar upazila early Sunday.

Witnesses said the fire originated from the kitchen of a house in the early hours and it soon engulfed the adjoining dwelling establishments, reports UNB.

On information, firefighters rushed in and extinguished the blaze after two and a half hours of efforts, said Abdul Malek, deputy assistant director of Panchagarh Fire Service.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abu Wadud said each family will get a bundle of corrugated iron sheet, Tk 3,000, 30kg rice, and dry foods apart from utensils from the administration.
