200 HSC students get Southeast Bank scholarships

Southeast Bank Foundation organised a function at the Officers' Club Dhaka for distribution of scholarship among 200 selected meritorious Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) students coming from the financially disadvantaged families, said a press release.

Chairman of Southeast Bank Limited Alamgir Kabir was present on the occasion as the chief guest, while directors of the bank MA Kashem and  Azim Uddin Ahmed were also present as special guests.

Managing Director (CC) M Kamal Hossain of the bank presided over the function.

Members of the board of directors, guardians of students and eminent personalities were also present on the occasion.

The Southeast Bank Foundation initiated the scholarship programme for poor and meritorious students in 2009 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.

The Foundation has, so far, distributed 1317 scholarships among the secondary level students, while the number of scholarships for higher secondary level students stands at 1922.

The scholarships for graduation level students stand at 270.
