Increased investment needed for cyber security
Increased investment is needed to ensure cyber security, speakers told a roundtable in the city.

They also said that there is also no alternative to create public awareness for stopping cyber attack.

The discussion styled, ‘Cyber Security and Our Preparedness, was held at BCS Innovation Centre on Friday evening.

Shyam Sundor Sikdar, Secretary of Posts and Telecomusition Division, attended the event as the chief guest and spoke.

He said everyone is taling about taking action against cyber attack but intentions to increase investment in this sector by individuals and institutions are not visible.

He said not only the government, everyone needs to be active against hacking and come forward to resist this crime.

Acting Secretary of Information and Communition division Subir Kishore Chowdhury, who attended the discussion as the special guest, said people having IT background and experience are required to be employed in this sector.

All the experts laid special emphasis on exercising caution or alertness against hacking. They opined that coordatated action by government and private organisations can ensure cyber security to a greate extent in Bangladesh.
