The country’s manufacturing exports to Japan declined by 3.45 per cent during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year.

The latest statistics, released by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) showed that export to Japan stood at $876.61 million in July-April period of FY17, which was $907.88 million in the same period of FY16.

EPB data also showed that annual export to Japan was $1079.54 million or around $1.08 billion in the past fiscal year.

Japan is the fifth largest trading partner of Bangladesh.

In the last fiscal year, value of bilateral merchandise trade between two countries stood at $2.68 billion where the portion of the value of import from Japan was $1.60 billion.
