Clash over land dispute leaves one dead in Chhatak
A clash between two groups of people over a land dispute at Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj district left one dead.

At least 20 others were also injured in the clash on Thursday.

Barkatullah Khan, superintendent of Sunamganj Police, said Abdul Wahid of Kayosthapara and Abdul Kahar of Hadidpur village had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a land, reports UNB.

As a sequel to the problem, supporters of both the groups, equipped with local weapons, attacked each other on Thursday morning, leaving 21 people injured.

Eight of the injured were taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Abu Syed dead.

On information, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
