'Made in India' iPhone to hit the market soon

FE Online Report
The Apple iPhone will soon have a tag mentioning ‘Made in India’ on the devices.

Taiwan-based contact manufacturer Wistron are now making the iPhone at its plant in Bengaluru of India.

According to a news item released by Business Standard, the company recently conducted a trial run at the factory.

The few phones, manufactured during the trial run, will be in different stores in India within two weeks.

Full-fledge manufacturing will, however, take some more time.

Apple, the global tech major, also confirmed the production at the sole facility in India.

“We are beginning initial production of a small number of iPhone SEs in Bengaluru. We’ll begin shipping to domestic customers this month,” Apple said in an email to the Indian news paper.
