'Empowering citizens as a manifesto to peace' with this theme, Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) was resounded with glowing youths from all over the Bangladesh. With having nearly 210 delegates as representatives of various countries and 19 executive board members from thirty educational institutions, NSTU Model United Nations (NSTUMUN) 2017 was held from 04 to 07 May, 2017. 'When hundred people dream a dream, it is not a dream, it becomes a reality,' said Mofasser Haider Bhuiyan, the secretary general of this year's NSTUMUN 2017 conference.

This conference was organised by NSTU Model United Nations Association (NSTUMUNA).

The opening was grand in style. The guests lit the light with gorgeous manner. The chief guest was the Pro Vice Chancellor of NSTU  Md Abul Hossain and other special guests were Registrar Professor Md Mominul Haque,  Director of Student Affairs and Guidance Department Afsana Mousume and the Adviser of NSTUMUNA Mahabubur Rahman Farhad. Amzad Hossain Dinar presided as the opening plenary president.

The conference was comprised of seven committees. United Nations Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh was strategic partner and SA TV HD and Daily Sun were official media partners of NSTUMUN 2017 conference. Young diplomats got involved into strong and heated debates in various committees. After open workshops, delegates started to get involved with the committees and the given agendas on the second day of the conference. Later, a splendid and mind-blowing social night was arranged to give a splash of entertainment and to refresh the minds of the guests of the conference.

Afterwards, a campus band named 'Chilekotha' performed and enthusiastic audiences enjoyed every part of it. After much heated discussions, delegates started to come on a middle ground to draft a resolution based on the agenda. There were finishing touch of debate and presentation of working papers in respective comittee sessions on the third day. The executive board members took a campus tour and the greenery and fresh air charmed them greatly.

On the last day of the conference, delegates submitted their draft resolutions after continuous discussions and debates. International Press Committee presented newsletter of various committees and covered the press releases. The closing ceremony was ornamented by the Plenary President Sarit Kaiyum Talukder, in- charge of National and International Networks, United Nations Youth and Student Association (UNYSA) Bangladesh. The best ones from each committee were awarded. The 25 award winners were very delighted after hearing their country names and audience greeted them when they received their awards. With gala night and music performance in festive manner, the journey of NSTUMUN 2017 concluded. It ended with the cheering of the delegates and promise of coming back of  NSTUMUN in 2018 again.
