‘No load-shedding in Ramadan’

The government has undertaken various measures to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply across the country during the upcoming Ramadan.

"We will put in our best efforts to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during the holy month of Ramadan across the country," State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has said.

He said some 9,212 MW power is being generated presently in the country, while the generation capacity reached to 15,351MW. The government is putting in its relentless efforts to ensure adequate power supply across the country.

"The power supply would be uninterrupted during the Ramadan month if there is no natural calamity in the country. Recently, a national grid tower was damaged by natural disaster," the state minister said.

He said the government would take necessary measures to produce required electricity according to the demand in peak hour and around 10,000 MW power would be generated during the Ramadan, if needed; according to agencies.
