PM meets President

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Tuesday evening.

"During the meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina apprised the President of the outcomes of her recent visits to India and Bhutan," President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told reporters after the meeting, reports UNB.

Besides, he said, they discussed damages caused by the recent flood in the haor-rich districts and subsequent initiatives taken to cope with the consequences of disasters.

Earlier, on her arrival at Bangabhaban at 7:30 pm, the Prime Minister was received by the President.

On April 18 last, Hasina went to Bhutan on a three-day official visit.

Earlier on April 7, she went to India on a four-day tour at the invitation of her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

Secretaries concerned and high officials of both the President and Prime Minister's offices were present.
