Traders for ensuring reasonable prices in Ramadan

Leaders of different business organisations and traders have committed for ensuring reasonable price of essentials during Ramadan in Rangpur district.

Rangpur Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RMCCI) arranged the meeting at the hall room of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) on Monday afternoon.

Directors of RMCCI and RCCI, business community leaders and traders of all strata of the divisional city attended the meeting with RMCCI President Rezaul Islam Milan in the chair. 

Speakers at the meeting said that the sanctity of the Holy Ramadan must be upheld. Raising prices of food and other commodities of day to day necessities will only go against the spirit, solemnity and teaching of the month of fasting and self-restraints.

RMCCI President Rezaul Islam narrated objectives of the meeting and called upon the traders to keep prices of the daily necessities within reasonable, stable and tolerable limits during the upcoming Ramadan.

Expressing firm commitment for engaging sincere efforts to keep prices of essentials during Ramadan at reasonable levels, the business community leaders and traders put emphasis on upholding the doctrine of the month of holy month. 

They raised some issues seeking assistance from all concerned including administrations to ensure smooth business of pure foodstuffs without chemicals and colours and stopping sales of rotten and uneatable foods in the markets, open places, and footpaths.

Addressing the programme, RCCI President Abul Kashem urged the businessmen for earning minimum profits during the Ramadan, supplying pure Iftari items and foodstuffs to commoners and ensuring smooth supply of formalin-free fruits, vegetables, fish, meat and other goods. – agencies.
