Tigers not happy with Dublin facilities, management

BD to face NZ on May 17
Insufficiency of facilities in Ireland has agitated both visiting Bangladesh and New Zealand during the ongoing Tri-nation series being hosted by Ireland. Batsmen are deprived of watching action replays of their wickets as there is no television set available in the dressing room, according to online sports news portals.

BCB Director acting as the team manager in the series Jalal Yunus said, “Belfast was far better than Dublin. There are no facilities here at all. I have informed the CEO of Cricket Ireland and people of event management here but still they could not solve anything.”

Bangladesh team had to do their practice sessions indoors after reaching Dublin on May 11 as the wickets in Balbriggan field are totally unprepared.

Jalal Yunus said, “The liaison officer is a level– 2 coach. He doesn’t understand anything. Our coaches and cricketers are frustrated over the things prevailing here. They are struggling to provide minimum facilities to us that we had to be given. But everything was penned in detail in the MOU.”

Even team New Zealand threatened not to visit Ireland to play in near future.

The purpose of the tri-series is a good practice platform for the teams as they go into the Champions Trophy next month.

Batsmen practicing indoors and bowlers bowling on a low-bouncing wicket does not serve the practice purpose, they could have done the same in Bangladesh as well.

The tri-series also is a great chance for Bangladesh to move up the ODI rankings and stand more chances to qualify for the 2019 World Cup.

The next match is the Bangladesh-New Zealand match on May 17. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the skipper of Bangladesh will be back for the game, after having missed the opener due to a one-match suspension picked up in Sri Lanka.
