Export to India goes up by 5.40 per cent

Export to India up by 5.40pc
Export to India increased by around 5.40 per cent during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year over the same period of last year.

Statistics available with the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) showed that export to India stood at $581.10 million in July-April period of FY17 while the amount was $551.31 million in the same period of the last fiscal year.

The EPB data also showed that annual export to India stood at $689.62 million in the last fiscal year.

Though India introduced tariff-free market access to almost all the products of Bangladesh in 2011, annual average export has become around $550 million for the last six years.

Series of non-tariff barriers make the export to India difficult, alleged local manufacturers and exporters.
