CIID seized 10 bottles liquor from Raintree Hotel
Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) officials on Sunday conducted a drive at the Raintree Hotel in Banani area of Dhaka city where two university girls were allegedly raped.

Dr Moinul Khan, CIID Director General (DG), said a CIID team started the drive in the morning and seized 10 bottles of foreign liquor from a room of the hotel, reports UNB.

Besides, the hotel dodged around 0.82 million as VAT in the last one month, said a CIID press release.

It said three cases -– two for selling wine dodging duty and laundering money and the other for evading VAT – will be filed against the hotel.

The two university girls were “raped” in the hotel on March 28 last.

One of the rape victims filed a case on May 6 accusing five people.
