BCL expels two CU leaders over clash with cops

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has expelled two members of its Chittagong University unit after they clashed with the police.

The BCL issued a statement on Thursday afternoon expelling CU BCL deputy office secretary Mizanur Rahman Bipul and assistant secretary Abdullah Kawser Shakil.

The two were dismissed for ‘disrupting the party discipline’, according to the statement.

On Thursday morning, a number of BCL activists had come forward to demand Shakil, who had been temporarily suspended by the university administration, be allowed to take the fourth-year exam along with his classmates.

A total of 28 were injured after the activists clashed with police.

BCL activists also disrupted shuttle train services to the university campus from Chittagong city. source – bdnews24.com
