Summer and mosquito menace

MOSQUITO menace and summer have become synonymous for the city dwellers.  On the one hand, the city dwellers have to bear with extreme summer heat accentuated by load-shedding and scarcity of water supply, and unusual traffic gridlock and lack of public transports on the other. To add further woes to their daily life, there is mosquito menace. The responsibility of controlling the mosquitoes lies with the city corporations which are supposed to destroy their breeding grounds by spraying mosquito repellents. But efforts to do so on their part are not noticeable. The Dhaka City Corporation has been divided into two separate corporations recently so that the citizens can have better service and civic facilities. But sadly there are no tangible efforts from either of the city corporations against mosquito menace.  I hope this time the city corporations will take sincere efforts to reduce the mosquito menace so that people can live in peace.
