PM on her way back home from Bhutan
Wrapping up her three-day state visit to Bhutan, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left here for home on Thursday morning.
A VVIP flight of Druk Airways carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage left Paro International Airport at 8:50 am (local time).
Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay and Bangladesh Ambassador in Thimphu Jishnu Roy Choudhury saw her off at the airport. Two tiny tots presented her a bouquet just before boarding.
Bhutanese children and students were seen standing beside the streets of Bhutan on Sheikh Hasina's way to Paro Airport from Le Meridien Thimphu Hotel holding miniature flags in their hands, reports UNB.
The flight is expected to reach Dhaka at 9:50 (local time).
During the tour, the Prime Minister on Wednesday inaugurated a three-day 'International Conference on Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders' at the Royal Banquet Hall in the Bhutanese capital on Wednesday.
She also held a bilateral meeting with her Bhutanese counterpart Dasho Tshering Tobgay on Tuesday.
After the meeting, both the countries signed five instruments, including three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and two agreements.
The Prime Minister on the same day had an audience with Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema following a gala reception and a guard of honour to her.
On Wednesday, she unveiled the Foundation Stone Plaque for the Chancery of the Embassy of Bangladesh at Hejo through a colorful function in presence of Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Bhutanese PM Dasho Tshering Tobgay.
