Prioritising railways

RAILWAY is a very popular and convenient mode of transport. Unfortunately it has been one of the most neglected sectors in our country since independence. All governments over the years went for development of road transport at the cost of railways despite being an easier and a safer mode of transport. Surely train is a safe and convenient mode of transport around the world. It is comfortable, safe and faster than other modes of transport systems. In my recent visit to China, I travelled 5000 kilometers by the bullet train which runs at 300 kilometers per hour. It was a fascinating journey. We also need high-speed train service which will help commuters travel fast and economically. During the  Eid holiday, many people go to their village homes by train and it is more popular and convenient according to the passengers. Train fares have been raised recently, but if the passengers get good service, they will not mind the extra burden. Railways should be prioritized and must be improved to suit the requirements of twenty-first-century populace.
