Poyry wins Bangladesh power plant deal
Poyry will provide engineer services to Ashuganj power plant in Bangladesh.
Poyry has won the assignment for the Ashuganj 400 MW combined cycle power plant.
Pöyry is an international consulting and engineering firm that serves clients globally across the energy and industrial sectors and provides local engineering services in its core markets.
The Ashuganj power station will replace an old, inefficient 150 MW steam turbine plant, according to a report by www.powerengineeringint.com.
Poyry's assignment includes supervision services for demolition, disposal and site preparation, construction, testing and commissioning.
Michael Gruenenfelder, regional director of Poyry's Thermal Power & Renewables business said the plant "will provide cost-competitive electricity to the people of Bangladesh as the country aims to rapidly increase electricity supply".
