Heavy fog, mist hit UAE morning traffic
Dense fog and mist hit various parts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday morning, leading to heavy tailbacks and congestion on many busy roads, according to Gulf News.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said that the fog mostly affected Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and completely blanketed the roads in Al Minhad, Suweihan, and near Al Maktoum International Airport.
Due to the low visibility on roads, accidents were reported on Ras Al Khor Road and on Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road near Mirdif.
There were also heavy tailbacks on Emirates Road heading from Sharjah to Dubai.
Weather forecasters at the NCMS said that while the weather will continue to be hazy during the day, fog and mist will continue to affect the UAE morning until Thursday.
Over the next three days, temperatures are expected to peak at 43 degrees Celsius in internal areas and 38 degrees Celsius along coastal areas.
