Road crashes kill four, injure nine in Narsingdi, Sirajganj
Four people have been killed and nine others injured in two road accidents in Narsingdi and Sirajganj.
Of them, two people, including a woman, were killed and six others injured in a head-on collision between a microbus and a private car at Gangpar on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Shibpur upazila on Sunday morning, reports UNB.
Shafiqul Islam, a sub-inspector of Etakhola highway police station, said the accident took place around 8.00am when the Dhaka-bound private car collided with the microbus coming from Bhairab, leaving two passengers dead on the spot and six others injured.
The injured were taken to Bhairab upazila health complex from where four were shifted to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.
The deceased could not be identified yet.
Earlier on Saturday night, in an accident in Sirajganj, the news agency also reports, two people, including a minor boy, were killed and three people injured at Shimultala on Sirajganj-Nalka road in the sadar upazila.
Police said the accident took place when a bus knocked down a CNG-run auto-rickshaw around 8pm, leaving two passengers of the three-wheeler dead on the spot and three others injured.
On information, police rescued the injured and sent to hospital, said officer-in-charge of Sirajganj Sadar Police Station Helal Uddin, adding that the identities of the deceased could not be known yet.
