Nazbin Forbes’ under-30 Asian change maker from Bangladesh
The prominent global magazine Forbes has featured Bangladeshi young woman Shougat Nazbin Khan as one of the 30 young pioneer women below the age of 30 who are leading change in Asia.
Nazbin at the age of 27 is also one of the UN young leaders for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to engage young people in realisation of the global goals.
She is the founder of H. A. Digital School and College on her family's land in northern Bangladesh, with the goal of providing education to the rural poor through digital tools.
The school charges a minimal tuition fee while offering free textbooks, school uniforms and transport.
She received the Commonwealth Youth Award for Asia in 2016. She has also developed a low-cost solar irrigation system for which she won the Green Talent award in 2015.
