PM opens Amphitheatre, musical fountain at Hatirjheel lake
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated an eye-catching grand musical dancing fountain and Amphitheatre set up at the city's Hatirjheel lake on Thursday.
After inaugurating the synchronised fountain and an amphitheatre, the Prime Minister said it was her New Year's gift for Dhaka residents.
Sheikh Hasina inaugurated those under a Rajuk project titled 'Integrated Development of Hatirjheel area including Begunbari Canal' through a videoconference from her official residence Ganobhaban, reports UNB.
Special Works Organisation of Bangladesh Army implemented the project in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Rajuk and Dhaka Wasa.
Describing the dancing musical fountain and the amphitheatre as 'New Year gifts', Hasina said that her government not only focuses on socio-economic development but also on entertainment for citizens.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hatirjheel Project Director Maj Gen Abu Sayeed Md Masud claimed the musical fountain to be the 'largest in South Asia,' according to bdnews24.com.
