DSE adds Pacific Denims to DSEX
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has added Pacific Denims to the benchmark index, DSEX, in line with the quarterly initial public offering (IPO) addition.
"A new company - Pacific Denims is being added to DSEX as it met all the criteria of quarterly IPO addition and qualified as eligible constituents of DSEX," DSE said in statement Wednesday.
The premier bourse added the company to DSEX in accordance with a methodology designed by S&P Dow Jones Indices, a global leader in providing investable and benchmark indices to the financial markets. A DSE committee is also supervising the methodology.
The restructuring takes place in every quarter, and the DSEX will now have 264 companies in line with the latest reforms that will be effective from April 23, 2017, said in a statement.
Pacific Denims, the export-oriented garment and denim fabric producer, which made its share trading debut in early February this year, raised Tk 750 million, floating 75 million ordinary shares at Tk 10 each.
The company's share price hovered between Tk 25.80 and Tk 26.60, before closing at Tk 26.20 on Wednesday, advancing 1.16 per cent over previous day.
