Home Economics students stage protest

Students of Home Economics College on Tuesday staged demonstrations on Azimpur-Mirpur Road to press home their various demands, including the one for declaring the college as a Dhaka University institution.

Officer-in-charge of Lalbagh Police Station Mizanur Rahman said they brought out a procession in front the college around 11:30 am that ended after parading different roads at Nilkhet and New Market, reports UNB.

Vehicular movement on the road from Nilkhet to Azimpur came to a halt for some time due to the demonstrations, said the OC.

Their other demands include increasing transport and library facilities for them, sources at the college said.
