Joypurhat housewife electrocuted as storm tears down power line

Housewife electrocuted in Joypurhat
A housewife in Joypurhat has been electrocuted to death after a storm tore down local power lines.

The accident occurred in the Panchbibi Upazila’s Nakorgachi village around 9:00pm on Monday, said Panchbibi Police Station OC Ashraful Islam.

The deceased, 25-year old Karima Khatun, is the wife of local resident Abdur Rahim, reports bdnews24.com.

Karima was recovered by firefighters after her electrocution and was taken in critical condition to Jaipurhat Modern Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

A cow belonging to the family was also killed in the accident, locals say.
