Police raiding two ‘militant hideouts’ in Ctg
Police members are conducting raid at two ‘hideouts of militants’ at Akbar Shah and Kattoli areas of Chittagong city, says Channel 24.
Meanwhile, UNB reports, law enforcers cordoned off two houses on suspicion of militant den around 4:15 pm on Monday.
Nazmul Ahsan, additional deputy commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (West zone), said a team of police, including a bomb disposal unit, and Special Weapon and Tactic Team (SWAT) members, cordoned off the two houses around 4:15 pm.
Sources said, around 200 members of the law enforcement agencies are launching the operation in the houses.
Earlier, on March 16, four suspected militants, including a female one and a six-year-old boy, were killed during a special raid by joint forces on a militant hideout at Premtala in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong, ending an overnight standoff.
Two SWAT members were also injured during the gunfight.
The special team also rescued 20 people of a number of families who got trapped in the house during the drive.
