DSE sees optimism in opening session

Dhaka bourse started the Monday’s session with optimism as majority number of securities went green.

Among the major sectors, fuel & power showed a good effort of supporting the market which witnessed a marginal correction in previous session.

After starting positively, the DSE broad index, DSEX crossed 5700-mark and gained 14 points within six minutes.

Later, the index witnessed some correction and shortly afterwards showed an effort of overcoming the situation.

The DSEX reached 5712 points within first hour of the session and the turnover stood at above Tk 2.95 billion.

Other two indices—Shariah and bluc chip—also witnessed marginal rises on the premier bourse.

Of 289 issues traded, 138 advanced, 85 declined and 56 were unchanged at around 11.49 am.

The City Bank was in top of the turnover chart with a value of Tk 237 million followed by IFIC Bank Tk 217 million, BBS Tk 211 million and MI Cement Tk 119 million.
