6 Myanmar citizens among 8 held in Chittagong with huge Yaba pills
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested eight people, including six Myanmar nationals, along with 0.6 million (six lakh) pieces of Yaba tablets at Patenga in the Port City on Saturday night, reports UNB.
Tipped-off that a big consignment of Yaba tablets was being smuggled into Bangladesh through Patenga, a RAB team conducted a drive there around 11:30pm, said Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Mintanu Rahman of RAB-7.
During the drive, the RAB personnel arrested six Myanmar citizens and two Bangladeshis from the spot and confiscated the consignment of 0.6 million contraband pills from them, said Mintanu, adding the details of the drive will be briefed later.
