An unidentified ‘miscreant’ was shot dead as he tried to attack a Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) check post at the Khilgaon area of Dhaka on Saturday.

Seeing the attacker, the RAB members opened fire on him, leaving him dead on the spot. Two members of the elite force were injured in the attack.

The motorcycle recovered from the spot had no number plate, the official added.

Meanwhile, reports, RAB-3 Operations Officer ASM Shakhawat Hossain said, “He (the attacker) tried to throw something at the RAB personnel. Later, a huge amount of explosives were found attached to his body.”

Around 11am, RAB's bomb experts arrived on the spot to defuse the explosives found on the suspected attacker.
