DNCC fines six city coaching centres Tk 0.230 million
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) in a drive on Thursday realised Tk 0.230 million in fine from six coaching centres for pasting posters and writing graffitis on roadside walls and Tk 70,000 from three restaurants for various irregularities in Farmgate area of the city.
Besides, the corporation in two other drives in Khilgaon and Gulshan areas also realised Tk0.15 million in fines from a restaurant and a beauty parlour.
Led by Chief Waste Management Officer Commodore Abdur Razzaq, the drive in Farmgate area was conducted by executive magistrate Masum Ali Begh.
Of the six coaching centres, Korean Language Teaching Coaching Global and QCC were fined Tk 50,000 each, Bijoy Tk10,000, Academic Coaching Centre Scholars, Udvas and UCC Tk 50,000, Tk 40,000 and Tk 30,000 respectively.
Besides, six cases were filed against them under the Graffiti Writing and Poster Sticking Control Act-2012.
Three restaurants in the same area were fined Tk70,000 under the Consumer Rights Protection Act- 2009 on charge of various irregularities.
The mobile court conducted by magistrate Sazid Anwar evicted 15 shops occupying the footpath at Khilgaon, fined the restaurant Peda Ting Ting at Gulshan Tk 0.1 million and SPL Parlour and Spa Tk 50,000.
Besides, the court sealed off the beauty parlour for operating without trade license in the residential area.
