Romanian inflation edges up 0.2pc in Feb
Romanian consumer price inflation edged up 0.2 per cent on the year in February after January's 0.1 per cent rise, data from the National Statistics Board showed on Friday.
The inflation rose below market expectations. Analysts expect inflation at 2.0 per cent at the end of this year, above the central bank's 1.7 per cent forecast.
The median forecast of analysts put annual inflation at 0.3 per cent in February.
Data showed prices fell 0.1 per cent on the month in February, with food prices up 0.7 per cent and non-food prices rising 0.1 per cent. Services prices fell 1.8 per cent.
The central bank is expected to keep interest rates on hold at a record low 1.75 per cent at its next meeting on April 5, according to Reuters.
