Four children injured in Dhaka factory fire
Four children suffered burn injuries as a fire broke out at a moneybag factory at Hazaribagh in the city on Thursday night, reports a news agency.
The injured were identified as Tanjid, 12, son of factory owner Shah Alam, Hedayet Ullah, 6, son of Ali Akbar of the area, and factory workers Sajib, 13, son of Md Kamal, and Asaduzzaman, 17, son of Harun-or-Rashid.
Sub-inspector Bachchu Miah, In-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp, said the fire originated at ‘Tanjid Leather Moneybag Factory’ at Bhagalpur Lane of Hazaribagh around 7:00pm, leaving the four children critically injured.
Later, locals rescued them and took them to the DMCH.
Of them, Sajib suffered burns on 61 per cent of the body while Tanjid 15 per cent and Hedayet 14 per cent.
