‘BD will continue to UN work in Palestine’

Bangladesh will continue to support the work of the relevant UN entities and committees in promoting and protecting the rights of the Palestinian people, said Advocate Md. Suhrab Uddin, a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Suhrab said it while taking part in a general debate on "Question of Palestine" at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York on Wednesday, reports BSS.

"Bangladesh joins the international community in reaffirming its supports for the cause of an independent, viable and united Palestinian state on the basis of the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital," he said.

Suhrab Uddin quoted from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's message on International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People "to take a pragmatic approach and work together for attainment of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people".

He also urged the international community to pursue Israel to halt attack on Palestine.   - IH
