A court in Brahmanbaria granted a four-day remand to question a suspect arrested over the Facebook post that led to the attacks on Hindus at Nasirnagar of the district.

Earlier, the suspect, Jahangir Alam, was produced at the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrates Court on Tuesday. He is a cyber café owner in Horinber Bazar, report agencies.

Police sought a 10-day remand for him but the court placed him on four-day remand, sources said.

Additional Superintendent of Police Md Iqbal Hossain said the 30-year-old was arrested from Kalaisriparha of Brahmanbarhia municipality on Monday midnight.

“Jahangir owns the Al-amin Cyber Café at Horinber Bazar. We suspect that he hacked into the Facebook account of Rasraj and uploaded the post denigrating Islam," he said. –RH
