HC orders Tarique to surrender within 30 days
The High Court ordered BNP's senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman to surrender within 30 days before lower court in three extortion cases.
The court issued the order as stay orders in these cases were vacated, which were filed during the army-backed caretaker regime against the eldest son of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, reports bdnews24.com.
Stay orders on two more corruption cases were also vacated against Tarique. The BNP leader has been living in London for the past eight years, ostensibly for medical treatment.
But he remains politically active in London, often issuing statements that have led to major controversies.–RH
