Trial over attack on Khadiza begins Dec 5
A court in Sylhet indicted Badrul Alam, a suspended student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust), in the case filed over attacking college student Khadiza Akter Nargis.
After the charge framing, Judge of Sylhet’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrates Court Saifuzzaman Hiru on Tuesday ordered trial and fixed December 5 for starting the trial of the case with deposition, report agencies.
On October 3, Khadiza was hacked with a sharp weapon outside MC College, where she went to take her honours examination, by Badrul Alam, a former leader of the Bangladesh Chhatra league of Sust unit.
Badrul was caught by locals just after he attacked Khadiza with a machete.
On October 4, the academic council of SUST suspended Badrul.–RH
