Prime suspect in NAsirnagar attacks held in Brahmanbaria
Police arrested a prime suspect of attacks on Nasirnagar Hindu community from Kalaishripara of the district town on Monday night.
The arrestee was identified as Jahangir, a resident of Shangkardah village in Haripur union of the upazila.
Igbal Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), said police arrested Jahangir from the area at night.
Jahangir went into hiding after the incident, said the ASP.
On 30 October, some unruly people demolished 15 Hindu temples and vandalised more than 100 houses in the upazila following a Facebook post that allegedly hurt the religious sentiment of the Muslim community.
In two cases, 2,400 unidentified people were sued in this connection; according to a news agency.
