14 women return from Indian jail
Fourteen Bangladeshi women returned home on Monday night after serving three years in an Indian jail.

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) handed them over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) through Benapole check post at night, according to BGB sources.

The returnees hail from different areas of Shariatpur, Gopalganj, Dhaka, Narail, Jessore, Mymensingh, Noakhali, Chuadanga, Jessore, Madaripur, Rangpur, Pabna and Bagerhat districts.

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) handed them over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) through Benapole check post at night, according to BGB sources, according to a news agency report.

BSF arrested them three years ago while entering India with the help of human traffickers three and half years ago. Later they served three years’ jail term each in Indian jails, the sources said.

Upon completion of their jail terms, the Indian government has returned them following repeated requests from the Home Ministry of Bangladesh.
