The prices of the most of shares on both DSE and CSE saw upward trend in early hour of trading on Monday as some optimistic investors remained active on sector-specific stocks.
After 30 minutes of trading, DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), advanced 13.89 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse CSCX rose 22.24 points.
After previous day’s mild correction, DSEX went up by 13.89 points or 0.29 per cent to reach at 4,800.47, when the report was filed at 11:00am.
The two other indices saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 8.05 points or 0.46 per cent to reach at 1,776.55 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 3.70 points or 0.33 per cent to stand at 1,138.39 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 1.28 billion on the DSE, when the report was filed at 11:00am, riding on Olympic Accessories and Quasem Drycells.
Of the issues traded till then, 155 advanced, 57 declined and 50 issues remained unchanged till 11am.
Olympic Accessories dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 66 million changing hands till then, closely followed Quasem Drycells Tk 60 million, Beximco Tk 62 million, Regent Textile Tk 56 million and Bangladesh Building Systems Tk 55 million.
The port city bourse the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – gaining 22.24 points to stand at 8,979.68 points, also at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 77 gained, 30 declined and 12 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 74 million.
