CU BCL faction goes on strike seeking justice for Diaz

CHITTAGONG, Nov 27 (UNB): A section of students of Chittagong University (CU) went on an indefinite strike on Sunday to press home their five-point demand, including immediate arrest of the accused in the case filed over the death of BCL leader Irfan Chowdhury Diaz.

The agitated students brought out processions on the campus premises, vandalised some CNG-run auto rickshaws and damaged a portion of the shuttle train, snapping the train communication from Sholoshohor in the city to CU.

Following the protests on the campus, the university authorities deployed police to control the situation, said CU Assistant Proctor M Helaluddin.
