The country’s twin-bourse -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- ended week on a high note on Thursday (November 24).
DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, advanced by more than 25.97 points to end trading at 4791.33 points on the last session of the week.
The Shariah DSES and blue chip DS30 followed the same trend in the week’s last trading day to close 4.07 points up at 1133.27 points and 5.46 points up at 1769.53 points.
Of the issues traded, 173 gained, 120 declined and 26 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 6584.25 million changed hands at the DSE on Thursday as against Tk 14781.83 million on Wednesday.
GRAMEENS2 topped the gainer’s list, by close price, at Dhaka bourse while other companies were EBLNRBMF, PENINSULA, GENNEXT and LRGLOBMF1.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were DOREENPWR, BEXIMCO, GENNEXT, BBS and CITYBANK.
Top five losers, by close price, at the DSE were BBS, BANGAS, MODERNDYE, MITHUNKNIT and NTC.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended the last session of the week up with its major CASPI index closing about 32.89 points at 8962.29.
Of the issues traded, 139 gained, 89 declined and 22 remained unchanged, according to a news agency. – bz
