Quilt makers overworking with piles of orders in Naogaon
NAOGAON, Nov 23: Quilt makers in the district are now passing busy time due to increasing the demand of the item amid fall of temperature in the area with the onset of winter season.
According to sources, the temperature in the district has now dropped by 4-5 degrees Celsius to 23-26 degrees in the last week.
People from many remote villages are seen crowding the shops of quilt to purchase.
Saidul Islam, a quilt maker of Bhabanipur Bazar said there are 600 quilt makers in the district. One can make five to six quilts a day and take Tk 200 as charge for each, which was Tk 150-160 last year.
The price of a quilt ranges between Tk 800 and Tk 2,500 depending on quality of the cotton, Saidul added.
