British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company (BATBC) Tuesday dominated the premier bourse's transaction chart for the two consecutive sessions while Grameenphone (GP) was the most-traded issue on the port city bourse.

The other four most-active shares in terms of value on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) were AB Bank, Bangladesh Building Systems, CMC Kamal and GP.

According to statistics available with the DSE, some 99,787 shares of BATBC were traded, generating a turnover of nearly Tk 253 million. It was 4.14 per cent of the DSE's total turnover value.

The multinational company's share price hovered between Tk 2,530 and Tk 2,550, before closing at Tk 2,545.70 on Tuesday, advancing 0.52 per cent over the previous session.

In the last one year, the company's share price traded between Tk 2,365 and Tk 3,115 each.

In nine months from January-September, 2016 period, the company's earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk 90.53 as against Tk 72.98 for January-September, 2015.

BATBC was, followed by AB Bank with 8.25 million shares worth nearly Tk 185 million changing hands. Each share of the bank closed at Tk 22.60, soaring 7.62 per cent over the previous day.

Bangladesh Building Systems was the third on the DSE transaction list with 3.98 million shares worth Tk 182 million changing hands. The company's share price fell 0.88 per cent to close at Tk 45 each.

CMC Kamal emerged as fourth with about 9.97 million shares of Tk 159 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 16.20, jumping advancing 9.46 per cent.

GP was the fifth on the DSE turnover list with 533,392 shares of Tk 154 million changing hands. The largest market cap listed company's share price advanced 1.05 per cent to close at Tk 290 each.

On the other hand, five most-traded stocks in terms of turnover value on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) were GP, AB Bank, Beximco, Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills and Dragon Sweater and Spinning.

According to statistics from the CSE, some 50,328 shares of GP were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 14.56 million. The telecom company's share price advanced 1.08 per cent to close at Tk 289.60 each on the port city bourse.

AB Bank was the second with 632,926 shares worth Tk 14.15 million changing hands. The bank's share closed at Tk 22.70, soaring 8.10 per cent.

Beximco was the third with 543,470 shares worth Tk 12.98 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 23.80 each, losing 2.07 per cent.

Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills was the fourth on the port city bourse's turnover chart with 76,783 shares of Tk 10.71 million changing hands. The Chittagong-based steel maker's share price fell 0.50 per cent to close at Tk 139.20 each.

Dragon Sweater was the fifth on the CSE's transaction list with 719,294 shares of Tk 9.37 million changing hands. The company's share price jumped 9.84 per cent to close at Tk 13.40 each.
