Four Bangladeshi young men were shot by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members on Naudapara border in Roumari upazila on Monday night.

The victims were Saju Miah, 18, son of Anwar Hossain, Rokan Uddin, 22, son of Rezaul Karim, Bablu Miah, 20, son of Falua Karim, and Manik, 17, son of Rupchand.

Shah Alam, member of ward no. Four of Roumari Sadar union parishad, said BSF troops from Kuchnimari camp opened fire at a group of Bangladeshi men while they were trying to bring cattle through the border area around 11.30pm, leaving the four bullet-wounded.

The injured were admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

Rafiqul Islam, Banglanazar camp commander of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said they had been informed about the incident; according to a news agency.
