‘Investigative journalism unearths corruption’
Visiting Chief of Transparency International (TI) Jose Carlos Ugaz Sanchez Sunday said investigative journalism, as an effective tool, has helped surface many corruptions and unmasked the corrupts worldwide.

Jose, now in Dhaka, said it at the TIB Office, reports BSS.

He said corrupt people were very powerful and journalists require extra skill to investigate and unearth the facts from the dark. So, the journalists need to be trained and equipped with appropriate skills and technical knowledge to fight corruption everywhere.

Later, he distributed awards among the journalists who won TIB awards for investigative journalism in Bangladesh this year.

TIB trustees were present.

TI, a German-based anti-corruption watchdog and is better known as TIB locally, has remained vocal against corruption in Bangladesh for long.

The TI Bangladesh (TIB) has conducted a number of researches on crucial sectors and came up with revealing information on corrupt practices. - IH
